Use images & audio in ChatGPT WhatsApp chats

For some time now it has been possible to add the ChatGPT AI assistant as a WhatsApp contact so you can chat like you’re messaging a friend. OpenAI has now expanded the feature to let you include images & voice notes in your WhatsApp conversations with the chatbot.

This means you can ask ChatGPT to analyze photos you upload or capture with your phone’s camera & tell you more information about their subjects. Just tap the paperclip or camera icon to add an image to your text query.

To interact with ChatGPT in WhatsApp using your voice, press the microphone button to record & share a voice message. The chatbot will detect what you’re saying & respond accordingly in text form. You can then either submit another voice note or continue the conversation by typing.

To add ChatGPT as a WhatsApp contact, tap the green plus-sign button & choose ‘New contact’. Set ‘ChatGPT’ as the 1^st name, then tap the dropdown menu under Country & select United States. Enter the number 1-800-242-8478 & press Save.
